The International Healthcare and Health Insurance Institute

IHHII is a non-governmental organization founded in 2001 whose mission is to assist the improvement of the management and functioning of the health system in Bulgaria by collecting, analyzing and exchanging information, knowledge and experience.

Mission

The Institute and all its members work towards the creation of a sustainable and reliable center for health information, analyses, prognoses, strategies and tactics in the area of the management, economics, organization, functioning, business administration and guaranteeing the quality of the health services and health insurance. The organization has as one of its objectives to improve the co-ordination and co-operation between the individual providers of medical services, the health care institutions, the representatives of the health and the pharmaceutical industries, the medical schools, the non-governmental sector, the media and the foreign partners.

The expertise of IHHII covers the following fields:

  • Know-how for healthcare sector reform in South-East Europe;
  • Quality management for hospital establishments;
  • Design, development and delivery of training programmes for health and medical professionals;
  • Health information & technology;
  • Health promotion and provision of access to healthcare services;
  • Healthcare communications.

  • Development, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of national and international projects and programmes;
  • Development and delivery of health information technologies;
  • Promotional and information activities;
  • Business intelligence;
  • Exchange of information, knowledge and experience between EU member states and candidate countries about healthcare issues;
  • Scientific and applied analyses, papers and consultations;
  • Training, ongoing qualification and specialization of individuals and organizations;
  • Design and maintenance of a health portal (http://www.zdrave.net/) which provides access to health news from home and abroad, reports, statistics, analyses, prognoses, comments and opinions, health legislation, health registers, medical libraries and other relevant information useful to professionals.
  • Organisation of international and national health conferences and forums.
