14.01.2010  A practical training for young journalists: "Risks Related to Amphetamine Use in Europe – Journalistic Aspects" will be held in Sofia, Bulgaria

The training is part of the project “Addicted to Life: international information campaign for prevention and reduction of risks associated with amphetamines use”, co-financed by Directorate-General Justice, Freedom and Security of the European Commission. The project aims to contribute to the improvement of information on drug use among affected communities and to prevent and reduce the amphetamine use, the dependence and drug-related harms among young adults in four European countries – Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia and France. The project creates informational products (www.addicted2life.eu) and cooperates with media to provide clear and understandable message on amphetamine use directed to users, professionals, non-professionals who are affected by the problem and general society.

The training will take place in Sofia, in Radisson SAS Hotel, on February 26 and 27, 2010. It is intended for young journalists – students or practicing journalists in the beginning of their carrier – from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Hungary and France.

The aim of the training is to develop a proper understanding in participants about the nature of drug use, and more specifically of amphetamine use, the associated risks and their appropriate presentment in print, electronic or internet media publications. Trainers will be distinguished experts in drugs area and/or journalism from five European countries.
